Here are just a few images from this evenings wonderful encounter with members of J, K & L-pod plus a Gray Whale!
We headed out this evening hoping to catch the Orcas that had been sighted earlier in the day off San Juan Island. As we neared Lime Kiln lighthouse we began to see several Orca blows and as we arrived on scene we could see the Orcas were in a very active mood.
Over the next hour we moved from group to group and watched several breaches, tailslaps, spyhops and incredible cartwheels!
On our way home we stopped at Oak Bay and encountered the Gray Whale that seems to have taken up residence there:)
A stunning night sky was the finale to a wonderful evenings adventure!
Here are a few images from our evening encounter with members of J & K-pod including J17 "Princess Angeline" and her new calf J45!
No one had kept track of the Orcas we had been following earlier in the day but that did not prevent us from finding the Orcas again for our passengers this evening. They were spread out between Eagle Point and Pile Point and we had another amazing encounter with several orcas including J17 & her young calf J45!
We saw several breaches and also some amazing cart wheels by J27 "Blackberry"!
On our way home we were treated to a stunning sunset and a breathtaking Full Moon! It was the perfect finale to an incredible day on the Salish Sea:)
