Today was the warmest day of the year so far with temperatures almost reaching 20 deg C! A large number of guests took advantage of this beautiful day and headed out on Fastcat today for a wonderful Marine Adventure.

We set out on an almost full Fastcat in search of the amazing Marine Wildlife to be found in the waters near Victoria. Our first stop was at Race Rocks where we discovered a number of Steller Sealions playing in the water near the rocks. We also saw a Eagle nearby that took off in flight. At least 5 Northern Elephant Seals could also be seen resting on the rocks. There were also a large number of Harbor Seals in and around the rocks.

Apart from the Marine Wildlife our guests were also treated to the outstanding beauty of the incredible landscape of the area. The snow covered Mountains of the Olympic peninsula and in particular Mt. Olympus, was stunning. Mt. Baker was also clearly visible today and its beauty and size impressed our guests.

After Race Rocks we headed over to Trial Island and the Chain Islands where we were lucky enough to see more Harbor Seals, a large Bald Eagle and numerous Cormorants. Whilst at the Chain Islands one of out Naturalists, Josh, gave an in-depth Kelp Talk that our guests appreciated.

Near Trial Island we saw a couple of Harlequin Ducks as well as Oyster Catchers.

It was an amazing day on the water and provided a perfect example of the wonders that the waters near Victoria have to offer.
