Oct 26 2013 - Resident Orcas & Humpbacks for the final trip of 2013!

Today was our final trip of 2013 and what a way to finish the season with Resident Orcas and Humpbacks:) We had heard earlier that many Resident Orcas had been spotted west of Race Rocks plus several Humpbacks as well. As we headed west of Race Rocks we began to see several blows first from multiple Humpbacks and then in the distance from the Resident Orcas who had formed a "Superpod" of over 80 Orcas:) The Resident Orcas were stretched across the Strait of Juan De Fuca between Sheringham Point and Beechy Head. The Humpbacks were also spread over a wide are with some as close as Pedder Bay and all the way past Point no Point! With so many whales, plus playful Sea lions at Race Rocks, calm seas and sunny skies, we could not have wished for a better trip to end our 2013 season!
