Thursday October 5 - AM and PM Trips

The FastCat spent the morning with an individual Humpback whale and then had a wonderful trip to Race Rocks MPA, with seals and sea lions. The afternoon trip had us viewing a mother and calf Humpack and then another spectacular visit to Race Rocks...where Steller sea lions were mock "fighting" for space on one of the islets. Steller sea lions are required to fight during the mating season (early summer, further North) to establish dominance over a particular domain on a beach. Therefore, practice fights seem to occur at the wintering "bachelor" pads. Enjoy some beautiful Humpback tail fluke shots and some Race Rocks photos!
