Transient Orcas all day! Aug 30th, 2013
Here are a few images of the pod of Transient Orcas we encountered today including the TO137's! We first encountered the TO137's north west of Hein Bank slowly moving North East. In the afternoon they were encountered a little north of Hein Bank traveling south towards the entrance to Puget Sound. They seemed in either traveling mode or resting mode all day.
Transient Orcas, Humpback & Minke Whales! Aug 26th, 2013
This afternoon we encountered 5 different species of Cetacean including Transient Orcas, a Humpback Whale and a Minke Whale, plus Harbor & Dall's Porpoise , 5 for Five Star:) The Transient Orcas were TO20 & TO21 who we encountered near Race Passage hunting for Seals or Porpoise! The Minke Whale and Humpback Whale were both encountered a few miles south of Victoria near Constance Bank. We also managed to spend time at Race Rocks with well over 300 Steller & California Sealions:)
