This picture of J2 "Granny" was taken by Ron Bates, Marine Mammal Researcher. "Granny" is the grand old lady of JPod and her estimated date of birth is 1911, which makes her over 90 years old.
The average life expectancy of female Orcas is 50-60 years old and males 30-40. However, female Orcas have been known to live into their 90's (like Granny) and male Orcas have been known to live into their 60's.
I just hope I look as well as "Granny" when I am in my 90's:)
