The perfect spring day on the water, May 10th 2007.

Here is a picture of Cpt Bill and Marine Mammal Researcher Ron. Ron used his keen eye to spot the Tufted Puffin pictured above.

We ventured out on Supercat today and enjoyed a perfect spring day on the water. Our tour took us to Race Rocks Ecological Reserve, Marine Protected Area. Race Rocks is a popular area for numerous marine mammals including the Stellar Sea Lions shown in he first picture above. Stellar Sea Lions can be distinguished from California Sea Lions as they are more of a being/tan colour rather than the darker brown colour of California Sea Lions.
If you visit the Race Rocks website you can actually control video camera that are placed in strategic areas and then see some of the incredible wildlife; http://www.racerocks.com/
During our trip we also saw California Sea Lions, Harbor Seals and even Bald Eagles, plus the Elephant Seal pictured in the previous post.
