Astounding Transient Orca Experience!! May 19th, 2008.

The 5 pictures above were taken by Capt. Trev on Fastcat.

Here are just a few pictures from an unforgettable encounter with Transient Orcas that were identified as the T124's and were sighted near Beachy Head.

We set out on our tour this afternoon with eager adventurers and within 30 minutes of leaving the harbor we were with the Transient Orcas. Not long after arriving on scene we could see the Orcas actively hunting and making a kill, possibly a Harbor Seal. Then as the T124's headed to the point at Beachy they suddenly became very active, especially the two calfs who were obviously having a Whale of a time (sorry for the pun)! Both crew and passengers alike were in awe of the behavior that we were privileged to witness including Spyhops, Tail slaps, Pectoral Slaps, Tali Flukes and even a Breach:)

After our exhilarating encounter with the T124's we headed to Race Rocks where we saw Steller Sealions, Northern Elephant Seals, Harbor Seals and a Bald Eagle.

Today was one of those very special days and those of us on board Supercat were thrilled with our experience:)
