During our 2.00pm tour today the sea was calm and the sun was out, perfect weather for seeing the various marine wildlife that can be found near Victoria.

We started with an Eagles nest and then a Bald Eagle at Haystack. We also spotted a couple of Blue Herons and Harbor Seals.

Our next stop was Race Rocks where we observed at least 6 Northern Elephant Seals, several Steller & California Sealions, Harbor Seals and a large number of Pigeon Guillemots.

On our way to the Chain Islands we suddenly spotted a large number of Harbor Porpoise following one of the tide line, probably feeding on fish. There must have been at least 30 Porpoise as they could be seen for a long way in the distance.

Next we stopped at the Chain Islands and saw several more Bald Eagles, Cormorants, Harlequin Ducks and Harbor Seals.

We then decided to head into Haro Strait and came across another even larger group of Harbor Porpoise, much to the delight of our passengers. A number of the Porpoise came quite close to our boat as we sat bobbing around in the water with the engines switched off.

It was another beautiful day to be on the water!
