Amazing evening encounter with T124 & CA58! May 9th, 2010.

Here are just a few images from this evening's amazing encounter with T124 & CA58 Transient Orcas!

We set out of Victoria Harbour this evening hoping to track down the two Transient Orcas spotted earlier in the day, T124 & CA58. The last report we had was at 6pm and that the two Transients were near Zero Rock heading towards Gordon Head. It was about 7pm when we arrived a few miles south of Zero Rock and started scanning Haro Strait for any sign on of the two Orcas. Thankfully not long after we started looking our crew picked up their blows and dorsal fins not far from Johnston Reef. We followed the two Orcas and noticed some interesting behavior as the two Orcas rolled around each other as they traveled mostly south East through the strait, it was amazing to watch! We left T124 and CA58 a 2 miles north east of Chatham Island heading towards San Juan Island at about 8pm.

This was my first evening trip of the season and what a wonderful way to start:)
