J-pod foraging all day! July 6th, 2012

Here are a few images of J-pod who were foraging off San Juan Island all day! Obviously there is enough Salmon along the west side of San Juan Island to feed the members of J-pod, who have spent almost a month hunting for Salmon in the area. Resident Orcas feed primarily on large Chinook Salmon, the largest of the Pacific Salmon Species. They seem to prefer this type of Salmon due to the high fat content.
