July 10th
SuperCats morning trip found us with K pod at Eagle Point. We watched K7 (Lummi) go by, and then spent the rest of the trip with the nursery K groups. The new little K39 popped up ahead of our bow, all by her/himself (see photo), and shortly there after K28 (Raven) appeared. K26 (Lobo) flew by the stern (see photo), as the babies dove round and round their Mum’s as they foraged.
The afternoon trip found us out, south of Kellet Bluff with J pod. We were almost mid strait with J11 (Blossom) and family, and then slightly inshore of this family, we found J16 (Slick) and the kids. So that was a treat, with J36 (Alki) doing 3 successive cartwheels (see photo)!!
