We headed out today in more fog towards Beachy Head where a Humpback Whale had been reported. There was thick fog all around us when we first arrived but it did dissipate during the trip. We saw an number of tail flukes as the animal went down for deep dives that lasted about 4 minutes.
After spending some quality time with the Humpback we headed to Crescent Bay to see another large Baleen Whale, a Gray Whale. We could see the gray Whale was actively feeding on the mud bottom of the bay but also saw it surface close by several times.
Seeing two different Baleen Whales during one trip was a real treat for passengers and crew alike.
On our way home we stopped off at Race Rocks to see the countless Harbor Seals, plus Stellar and California Sealions.
