Transient Orcas, and amazing Marine Mammals! Sept 2, 2011

We had an amazing day on the water with encounters with bow-riding Dall's Porpoise (first time this summer), 100's of very active Sealions at Race Rocks and then the Transient Orcas, including the T41's, right off Victoria!

The Transients were following the shore line very closely and we observed them make a number of kills.

They continued to follow the shore line all the way into the mouth of Victoria Harbour! We even called the Harbour Patrol to warn them that they may have to close down the International runway portion of the Harbour:)

Eventually the orcas did move right past Ogden Pt. breakwater and continued east along Victoria waterfront.
