July 4th – Amazing evening with J50 & Jpod

This evening we had an amazing encounter with J50 and many other members of Jpod in Haro Strait! J50, the young Baby born in late December, was particularly spunky this evening as we watched J50 Breach several times as well as tail slap. The Young Orca was playing with one of her siblings J42 “Echo”, who also breached a few times. We also saw J42 lift J50 on her back to the surface 
J16 “Slick” kept an eye on her two youngest children as they continued to play together, delighting our passenger! We also got to see several other members of Jpod including J34 “DoubleStuf” who we watched chasing a Salmon in the middle of Haro Strait. With a glorious Sunset on our way home it was a stunning end to a fantastic evening on the water.
