Transient Orcas July 18th, 2008!

Today we encountered a group of Transient Orcas, the T44's, near Crescent Bay who made their way towards Race Rocks by the evening.

As we set out for our final trip of the day we heard that the Transients had reached Race Rocks. We arrived on scene just as the Orcas moved outside the MPA and headed towards Pedder Bay. Whilst watching the Transients we observed at least two kills, probably Harbor Seals, and some tail flukes.

We stopped in at Race Rocks to check out the countless Harbor Seals, many with Pups. Whilst at Race Rocks we also saw a Bald Eagle chase some Seagulls, who narrowly escaped being caught.

The Orcas continued to travel along the shore line towards Victoria and we eventually left them near Albert Head. It was only a short journey home after another wonderful adventure with another stunning sunset as a finale!
