Five for Five Star, 5 Orcas and 5 Humpback Whales!!! Oct 5th, 2008.

Five Humpback Whales were in the area today!

We had a very enthusiastic group of passengers on board today!
T20 Transient Orca

T41A

T44 Transient Orca

What an amazing day on the water with Five Transient Orcas (the T41's and T20's) near Becher Bay and Five Humpback Whales south east of Race Rocks:)

We first encountered the T41's in Becher Bay and were milling in the bay for a long time. Then they suddenly picked up speed and hugged the shoreline as they headed west. As they neared Beechey Head we suddenly saw blows from two more Orcas, the T20's (T20 & T21)! Five Transient Orcas in total:)

After a stop at Race Rocks to see the Seals and Sealions we headed east to see if we could pick up any of the Humpback Whales that have been hanging out in the Strait of Juan De Fuca. We were in luck and not only did we spot the Humpback Whales but spotted a total of Five Humpbacks!!! A pair swam to the north of our boat whilst three others swam closely together to the south, it was an incredible sight:)

October continues to be an amazing month for Whale Watching!
