We could see the T46's hunting amongst the pilings and dock in search of Harbor Seals.
Here the Orcas can be seen killing and feeding on a Harbor Seal!

T20 & T21 heading west through the Strait of Juan De Fuca.
We set out this afternoon in search of the Transient Orcas that have been sighted consistently over the last few days and not only did we find Orcas but three different groups of these Apex Predators!
First we encountered the T20's (T20 & T21) just west of Race Rocks. As we watched this Mother and Son they swam right under a group of Steller Sealions that seemed oblivious to the possible dangers below!
Next we ventured a little further south into the Strait of Juan De Fuca and had a wonderful encounter with the T2 group of Transient Orcas. This group moved steadily westward through the strait.
We then headed to Race Rocks to see the various prey of Transient Orcas, the Steller & California Sealions and Harbor Seals, which are the favorite prey item. Our passengers were thrilled with the diverse marine life we had already shown them but the best was yet to come!
Our Skipper, Trev, headed over towards William Head and there we had a breathtaking encounter with the T46 group of Transient Orcas, including the new calf T46B2! As we observed the T46's we could see them foraging amongst the pilings in search of Harbor Seals and saw signs of at least one kill, possibly more. We also saw T46B1 being very playful plus some amazing Spy Hops!
What a spectacular day on the water with beautiful sunny skies and calm seas, perfect for Whale Watching!
