Here are a few images of the California Transients we encountered south west of Sooke! We are still working to get them all identified but they included a male CA166, two females CA172 and CA173, plus their offspring. Alisa Schulman-Janiger is helping to identify these rare visitors to the Salish Sea. These Transients had been spotted a couple of days ago but prior to that had not been seen in our waters since last October. Apart from the Transients we also encountered a number of Humpbacks as well as playful Sea Lions a Race Rocks!
