Oct 3rd, 2013 - Transient Orcas and multiple Humpback Whales!

Here are a few images from today's incredible encounter with Transient Orcas, the TO11's, and multiple Humpback Whales!

The TO11's are a mother (TO11) and her son (TO11A). We witnessed the Transient Orcas make a couple of kills whilst we were on scene, and in fact if you look closely at the pictures you will see on poor Harbor Seal in front of the male TO11A! A few second later the poor Seal was no more....

The Humpback Whales were spread in a 2-3 mile radius from Race Rocks and were doing several soundings (bringing up their tail flukes as then went on deep dives) and also some lunge feeding.

We also witnessed several Steller Sea Lions hunting and eating Salmon, one right by our boat:)

It was another amazing October day on the water:)
