Oct 4th, 2013 - Transient Orcas & Humpback Whales off Victoria!

Here are a few images from today's encounter with Transient Orcas & Humpback Whales off Victoria! We had received a report earlier in the day that Transient Orcas had been spotted out west heading towards Victoria. When we arrived on scene, just off Victoria, it took a while to identify the Orcas but eventually we did recognize them as the TO124's. They were moving rapidly towards Oak Bay and we left them near Trial Island where we encountered the 1st of at least 4 Humpback Whales:)

We also stopped off at Race Rocks to show our guests the Hundreds of California & Steller Sea Lions, plus Harbor Seals and Northern Elephants Seals.

On our way home we encountered two more Humpback Whales just north of Race Rocks slowly moving east towards Constance Bank.

What an incredible day on the water and proving why October is an awesome time to go whale watching:)
