Porpoise, Gray Whale & Humpback Whale! Oct 21st, 2010

Here are a few images from this afternoon's encounter with Dall's & Harbor Porpoise, Gray Whale and a Humpback Whale!

We headed out this afternoon with thick fog throughout the area and no reports of any whales being sighted in the area. However, we knew that as more boats headed out and the fog lifted a little something would be found. In fact not long after we left the harbour we were on scene with a Humpback Whale, named Splitfin due to the shape of the dorsal fin! Split fin was in a playful mood and brought his tail flukes out of the water on several occasions:)

After spending time with Split Fin we also went over to Discovery Island to see our favorite Gray Whale:)

We also encountered a number of Harbor Seals and both Dall's & Harbor Porpoise during today's tour!
