Today was the final day of May but it continued to prove what a great month it has been for whale watching with Jpod sighted off the west coast of San Juan Island! As we arrived on scene we observed a lot of foraging by several members of Jpod. We also saw some high speed porpoising.
In the evening we caught up with Jpod 2.5 miles NE of Turn Point, just of the southern coast of Pender Island. Although it had taken us an hour to get on scene the wait was well worthwhile as we witnessed multiple Breaches, tailslaps, spyhops, pectoral slaps and even a cartwheel. The finale was a nice pass by J1 just before we had to head for home.
Another spectacular sunset greeted our arrival in Victoria and was the perfect end to another incredible day with Five Star Whale Watching!
