WEDNESDAY, JULY 22, 2009 MORNING TRIP, K-POD of RESIDENT (FISH-EATING) KILLER WHALES IN THE MIST

Passengers with Five Star Whale Watching had a first-hand example of just how unpredictable the weather can be when you are dealing with winds coming off the mountains, cold moist air off the ocean and the mist and fog that can build as they meet. While these are some of the key components of the Temperate Rain Forest environment, this weather can make it even more exciting and challenging to find whales.

Hearing the blows of K-pod as they came out of the mist in Haro Strait is a memory that passengers long treasure.
