Here are just a few images from this evenings encounter with members of L-pod and a Gray Whale!
We headed over to Kellett Bluffs this evening and encountered several members of L-pod including L12 "Alexis", L22 "Spirit", L85 "Mystery", L89 "Solstice" and L79 "Skana". When we first arrived on scene the Orcas were moving swiftly up Island. Then after a couple of incredible breaches by Alexis, the group slowed down, foraged for a while and then went into resting formation!
The Orcas slowed down to only 2 knots and were heading towards Turn Point when we left them.
On our way back to Victoria we stopped in at Oak Bay and once again encountered the Gray Whale that has took up residence here:)
