J-pod off San Juan Island! June 7th, 2010

We headed out this afternoon with our two high speed expedition Catamarans, Supercat & Fastcat, full with excited passengers eager to see the wonders of the Salish Sea and they were not disappointed!

Our vessels headed to Turn Point after Ron Bates, MMRG, received reports that J-pod had entered Boundary Passage heading south west:) As we arrived on scene just north of Turn Point we could see the Orcas moving towards Haro Strait and we witnessed Porpoising (high speed swimming), tail slaps and spyhops.

As the Orcas turned into Haro Strait we observed some fishing activity and then a number of spectacular breaches by a youngster!

We had a wonderful day on the Salish Sea:)
