L-pod near Salmon Bank! June 22nd, 2013

Today we had a wonderful encounter with Resident Orcas (L-pod) near Salmon Bank. The Resident Orcas were in a very active mood with lots of Spy Hops, Cartwheels, Tail Slapping, Tail Lobbing and Breaches observed.

We also saw a lot of foraging (hunting for Salmon) as the Orcas looked for their favourite food, Chinook Salmon. Resident Orcas use  Eco location (biological Sonar) to hunt for prey.

Our highlight of the day was watching L119 Spy hop and breach a number of times:)
