Superpod of Transient Orcas in the afternoon! July 12th, 2013

WOW is the only words to describe this afternoon's encounter with a Superpod of Transient Orcas! We encountered over 12 Transient Orcas north west of Dungeness Spit this afternoon and had an amazing encounter. First we watched as the various Transient Orcas (including the TO30's and TO 185's) came together in a greeting ceremony., this will happen when different pods see each other for the first time in a while. Then suddenly the Transient Orcas started to Porpoise, first NE and then SE. Watching all these Transient Orcas Porpoise (high-speed swimming) at the same time was awesome! On our way home we stopped off at the Chain Islets to show our guests the large number of Harbor Seals and various Marine Birds that can be found there. It was the end of another wonderful day of adventures with Five Star Whale Watching:)
