10.00am trip July 3, 2007.

Two cats passing at speed, say "Cheese":)

Sometimes it is just nice to relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the Salish Sea!

Seals at Chain

This little guy was just hauling out of the water, so cute!
Lots of space for our passengers in Fastcats roomy and heated cabin area.

At this time of year the authorities put a lot of effort into educating boaters about the correct behavior around Whales and other marine mammals.
Busy Haro Strait! We can see the Sidney-Anacortes ferry along with a Canadian Naval Vessel and several Whale Watching vessels.

Jpod in Resting Mode.
Porpoising
Ruffles coming to the surface.

Jpod resting

Below you can see an incredible breach I was lucky enough to capture today.

On our morning trip today we caught up with Jpod just North of Kellet Bluffs and when we first arrived most of Jpod seemed to be resting. However, part way through the trip we began to see several breaches and tailslaps and the pod became more active with several members observed to be porpoising. We recognized several members of Jpod including J11 "Blossom", J22 "Oreo", J27 "Blackberry", J34 "Doublestuf, J38 "Cookie" and of course J1 "Ruffles and the grand matriarch of the pod, J2 "Granny".

On the way home we stopped by Chain Islands to observe the many Harbor Seals that are now hanging around the islets. Our passengers were delighted to see a couple of Seals haul themselves onto the rocks.

Please enjoy these pictures but remember they are zoomed in.

My Sisters and I truly enjoyed our whale watching adventure. Hopefully, this can be an annual adventure for us in Victoria.

I fowarded the blog to my friends. I am planning a bday party for next june and think victoria could just be the spot. The pic on the blog (watching the waters in orange jacket) has made me a celeb with my friends.

My whale pics looked good on the camera but don't appear to blow up as great as 5*'s. It was fun to have a 'breech' picture of my own though.
Thanks again for a great time.
