Orcas, Humpback Whale, Minke Whales, & Elephant Seals on July 11th 2007!

Homeward bound. Passengers relax and reflect on the way home after another exhilarating trip.

The above three pictures are of Elephant Seals that were taking in easy at Race Rocks.

Passengers relax on the spacious top deck of Fastcat with Race Rocks in the back ground.

Seals hauled out at Race Rocks.

The pictures above show the Humpback Whale we sighted about 4 miles south of Secretary. This particular Humpback has been in the area for a few days now and has a very distinctive dorsal fin.

Today was another scorcher on the water and a day filled with plenty of Marine Wildlife including Orcas, Minke Whales, a Humpback Whale, Elephant Seals and Seals. Lpod was sighted this morning heading West between Otter Point and Jordan River. In the afternoon a lone Humpback was sighted near Secretary after an extensive search and our patience was rewarded, as can be seen from the pictures above. We also sighted three Elephant Seals and a number of Harbor Seals at Race Rocks. Our sister vessel, Supercat, again discovered several Minke Whales lunge feeding near Heine Bank.

No wonder the Salish Sea is acknowledged as being one of the best places in the world to see such a wide variety of Marine Mammals.

Please note all pictures are taken with a zoom lens.
