Our three earlier trips (10am, 12.30pm & 2.00pm) had all been watching members of our Southern Resident Pods near the San Juan Islands and had reported great sightings all day.

We set out this evening and caught up with members of Lpod just off Victoria waterfront. As we arrived we heard from out sister boat "Supercat" that the Orcas looked like they were playing with a small Porpoise, possibly teaching L109 (the new L-pod calf) how to grab the Porpoise. However, later in the trip the Porpoise was observed to be playing with the Orcas, something I and many of my colleagues had never seen before. It was so incredible to see this inter-species interaction right before our eyes!
