ALOT OF ORCAS!

(if you require high resolution prints please go to Killer Whale)

Well, at 12:30 we took a long adventure towards Active Pass where all of J's and most of L's were heading. We hiked for 1.5 hours hoping the animals would wait up for us! We found Jpod was close to the shore while the L12's (minus L12 herself) including Mega L41 and his sisters Calypso L97 and Matia L77 steering more offshore. Jpod grouped up into a tight group before moving through Active Pass. It was more then spectacular to see them so close together. In one group was J1, J2, J14, J27, J31 with others. There was some spyhopping including two animals at one time. We also saw a breach however I didn't get a photo of it sorry. Noticed as Jpod went around the corner that there were a group of people on the hill. Saw someone pec slap and tail slap as they passed. I can only hope it was their way of waving to those standing and watching them pass by. What an amazing day!
