J1 "Ruffles"For the second time in two days we ventured out on Supercat for our 12.30pm and caught up with J Pod near Pender Island. Although it was a longer than usual journey covering over 60 nautical miles in total, it was worth it as we got to see several members of J Pod including J2 "Granny" who is the oldest female in Jpod, J1 "Ruffles" who is the oldest male and J42 the new calf that is the newest member of JPod.
During our tour we also got to see several Harbor and Dalls Porpoises as well as a number of Bald Eagles. The sun even made an appearance and with the calm seas, it was a great day to be on the water.
