Today was another incredible West Coast adventure with another sighting of the huge Humpback Whale close to Victoria! We watched the Humpback playing in a tide line, possibly giving its body a scratch on the debis floating within the tide line.
Prior to the Humpback Whale we had been watching a group of Transient Orcas in the Juan De Fuca Strait moving in the direction of Race Rocks. These Marine Mammal Eating Orcas were probably in search of Harbor Porpoises or Harbor Seals, their favourite food, or even possibly a Sealion.
With the Whales again so close to Victoria we had time to visit Race Rocks ecological researve and check out the Harbor Seals, Sealions, Elephant Seals and numourous Marine Birds.
