West Coast Adventure Aug 18th 2007!

Today was an incredible West Coast Adventure with various Marine Mammals and other wildlife seen throughout the day including a Humpback Whale, Harbor Porpoises, Elephant Seals, Stellar and California Sealions and Harbor Seals.

The Humpback Whale was hanging around Constance Bank throughout the day and during our evening trip. We saw a number of tail flukes as the animal made a deep dive as well as some foraging. It is such a thrill to see these large Baleen Whales are making a strong comeback in the area.
With the Humpback Whale so close to Victoria we also had chance to visit the famous Race Rocks Ecological Reserve where out guests observed the large number of California and Stellar Sealions as well as Harbor and Elephant Seals.
During our afternoon tour we also saw a Mother and Calf Harbor Porpoise not far from Race Rocks. Harbor Porpoises were again spotted during our evening tour as well as a Stellar Sealion that popped up right beside our boat and another Stellar was seen catching a Salmon as we headed for home.
Once again a stunning West Coast Sunset was the perfect end to another memorable day on the water.
