This morning our vessel Fastcat headed to Eagle Point where reports had come in of Whales being sighted at 8.30am. When Fastcat arrived on scene they soon identified members of Lpod, the largest of the three Southern Resident Orca Pods. With the 2 new calf's this year (L109 & L110), Lpod now has 44 members.
During our afternoon tour a Humpback Whale was sighted south of Trial Island and our passengers were thrilled to see this large Baleen Whale in all its magnificence.
The boats at 12.30pm and 2.00pm then went to the south end of Rosario Strait near Lawson Reef, where Lpod had met up with the other two Southern Resident Orca Pods J & K to form Superpod.
