Our tours today enjoyed the company of a large Humpback Whale south of Otter Point! There was also a sighting of a young Humpback Whale near Sheringham Point. Both Humpback Whales sighted today were new to the area and pictures of their tail fluke markings have been recorded for future i.d. purposes.
Humpback Whales were wiped out of the area back in the late 1800's/early 1900's by the whaling operations in the area but started to return to our area about eight years ago. It is an amazing experience to observe one of these majestic giants as they tail fluke:)
Apart from the Humpback Whales view also visited Race Rocks MPA, an saw a number of Elephant Seals, Harbor Seals, Stellar and California Sealions.
A stunning sunset was the perfect end to a splendid day on the water!
