We caught up with several members of Lpod this morning near Salmon Bank and at first we were a little surprised to see no large males in the group. However, it became clear that we had a nursing group of females and offspring. Then word came that a new calf had been spotted and we soon spotted L111 within a group of 6 Orcas.
This is a very exciting discovery and we will follow the fortunes of this newest member of the Southern Resident Orcas over the next few days:)
