Southern Resident Orcas again:) Aug 9th, 2008.

Early this morning we received reports that Jpod along with 6 members of Lpod had been sighted south of Trial Island. As our 10am tour arrived on scene the Orcas had travelled to Beaumont Shoals.

In the afternoon the Orcas had travelled East and were near Eagle Point as we arrived on scene. We observed several tail slaps, cartwheels and a number of Breaches as we followed the Orcas up and down the coast.

In the evening we travelled south of False Bay where we encountered several Orcas foraging and socializing. When Cpt. Trev lowered our hydrophone into the water we picked up some amazing vocalizations. The damp weather did not dampen the spirits of our enthusiastic passengers who were thrilled with the action they were so fortunate to enjoy.

The clouds meant we also witnessed a magnificent sunset again this evening, no wonder these evening tours are so popular!
