Superpod! Aug 15th, 2008.

Today we caught up with all of our Southern Resident Orcas near Iceburg Point on the southern tip of Lopez Island. Many of the Orcas were in close formation, which was a thrill to watch. We also saw a number of breaches, spyhops and tailslaps as the Orcas moved North!

In the evening the pods had moved West and we caught up with them near Hein Bank. It was an incredible experience watching all of our Southern Resident Orcas stretched out across the strait heading west. Our passengers were thrilled to see many breaches, spyhops and cartwheels by several Orcas. In particular we watched as a couple of the youngsters were being very playful!

Another stunning sunset greeted us as we headed for home after a wonderful day with the Southern Resident Orcas:)
