Jpod and members of Lpod! Aug 4th, 2008.

As a large container ship went past, several members of Jpod and the L's could be seen surfing in the wave created. It was an awesome sight!

We headed to Turn Point this morning after Ron Bates, "The Whale Guru", received word that Jpod and 6 members of Lpod had been spotted in Boundary Passage. As we arrived we saw the Orcas heading around the point into Haro Strait. A large cargo ship came passed and created a wave that several Orcas delighted in surfing, it was an awesome spectacle! We also saw a number of Breaches, much to the delight of our passengers.

In the afternoon the Pod had moved offshore towards Heine Bank and we observed many of the Orcas including L57 "Faith", foraging for Salmon. It was an incredible day to be on the water!
