T10 and T10C

We were the first vessel on the water this morning and so found the first Whale of the day, a Minke Whale near Beaumont Shoals! The Minke looked as if it was foraging for food in the tide lines. We then headed to Race Rocks and observed the many Harbor Seals, Stellar & California Sealions at this important Marine Protected Area. As we headed for home we saw a blow in the distance and then heard a report that a group of unidentified Transient Orcas had been picked up. From pictures I took of the encounter I successfully I.D. the Orcas as the T10 group.

In the afternoon we headed towards Moresby Island where another group of Orcas had been sighted, the T2's, which consists of T2, T2B, T2C, T2C1 and T2C2. We followed them for a while as they moved through the kelp beds.

What another stunning day to be on the water!
