Here are a few images from today's Encounters with L-pod off San Juan Island!
Ron Bates, MMRG, got word that L-pod had been sighted near Eagle Point early this morning and that is where we headed on our 10am tour. When we got on scene we could see that L-pod was spread from False Bay down almost to Salmon Bank and moving in a southerly direction. We witnessed several breaches, tail slaps and pectoral waves during our morning trip:)
In the afternoon we again headed to Eagle Point but this time the Orcas were moving steadily north. As we watched the Orcas we had some wonderful encounters with various L-pod members including L41 "Mega"!
It was a wonderful day on the water:)
