Here are a few images from our encounter with L-pod off San Juan Island in the morning! Ron Bates and I were listening to the hydrophone at Lime Kiln early this morning and heard faint vocalizations so we knew we had Orcas somewhere off the west side of San Juan Island!
We were the first boat out this morning with a boat full of eager passengers and we did not disappoint as we were soon on scene with L-pod near Hanna Heights:) The Orcas were in foraging mode (hunting for Salmon) and were moving up & down the island looking for the Salmon.
Apart from the Orcas we also go to see Porpoise, Harbor Seals, several Bald Eagle and even a Hawk. What a wonderful morning on the water:)
