Here are a few images by Ron Bates of Marine Mammal Research Group (MMRG), from today's encounters with members of the Southern Resident Orcas and the Gray Whale. The sun was out, temperatures were in the mid 20's and seas relatively calm, so what better way to start the last long weekend of the summer:)
