Here are just a few images from a remarkable encounter with a Superpod (J, K & L-pod) off Victoria this morning! We also encountered a Gray Whale near Discovery Island.
The Pilot vessel reported early this morning that they had spotted a large amount of Orcas just south East of Victoria heading towards Trial Island. When we arrived on scene we soon realized we had all three pods, J, K & L-pod in close formation forming an amazing Superpod!
We followed the Orcas as they made their way slowly towards San Juan Island. It was breathtaking to see so many Orcas, well over 80, in such a close formation and it left both the passengers and crew speachless:)
