Transient Orcas near Jordan River. Oct 2nd 2007.

What an adventure we had today! During our 2.oopm tour we set out in search of a group of Transient Orcas that were moving West near Otter Point. By the time we caught up with the Orcas they had travelled to Jordan River and the journey to get there was quit the adventure. However, the journey was worth it as the Orcas were seen travelling through the swells and at times surfing waves, both of which our passengers loved watching.

We were the only boat on scene and enjoyed watching these supreme hunters as they travelled along the famous Juan De Fuca Strait. Whilst watching the Orcas and during our travel to and from Jordan River, we also got to see some of Vancouver Islands most impressive and rugged coastline.

On the way home we stopped off at Race Rocks and watched the many Stellar and California Sealions. The lighthouse at Race Rocks is one of Canada's oldest and most famous Lighthouses and is a very well known local landmark. Completed in 1860, the lighthouse is made from stone brought all the way from Scotland and used due to its durability.
