FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2009 T-40 TRANSIENT KILLER WHALE IN "CONFUSED SEA"
Confused sea conditions occur as a result of major shifts in wind direction that occur quickly. This causes waves coming from differing directions, resulting in waves that are irregular and unpredictable.
Passengers on today's afternoon trips will far better understand this definition now that they have experienced a "Confused Sea" for themslves. Most felt that it only added to the excitement of seeing the top predator in the Ocean: The Transient Killer Whale (Orcinus Orca).
We saw the Transient (Marine-Mammal_Eating) Killer Whale T-40, who has been nicknamed "Captain Hook" because of the remarkable curl at the top of his 2m (6foot +) dorsal fin.
