WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2009 ALL OUR GRATITUDE FOR J-POD

WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, 2009 ALL OUR GRATITUDE FOR J-POD

This is a strange way of life, being lucky enough to see these incredible animals so often and having the pleasure of introducing new passengers each day to this experience.

We at Five Star Whale Watching take this responsibility very seriously, and we dare never forget just how much gratitude we should have every day.

We made two trips out to see J-pod today and, as always, the experience was different each time. In the morning we saw J-pod "resting", tightly bunched and moving with a very gentle rhythm and with synchronity . This is one of the ways that Killer Whales (Orcinus Orca) conserve energy and revitalize. By the late afternoon J-pod had covered another 20kms (12 miles) and was now "transiting", moving with purpose and authority.
