Harbor Porpoise in Haro Strait
Dalls Porpoise
General Manager, Jim Dale, talking to passengers about the safety and stability advantages of our Catamaran vessels and the various Marine Wildlife that can be seen in the area.
After a bit of rain in the morning the sun came out this afternoon just in time for our 2.00pm tour and off we headed into the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Not long after we departed we came across a number of Harbor Porpoise and Harbor Seals near Bird Rock. As we were sat in the water watching the Porpoise and Seals surfacing we suddenly spotted a Mother & Pup Harbor Seal pop up right off our Stern:)
We continued to explore Haro Strait and did come across a couple of Dalls Porpoise near Kelp Reef. Our next stop was the Chain Islets, which prodced a bonanza of wildlife including Harbor Seals, Harlequin Ducks, Cormornats, hundreds of Gulls and 2 Bald Eagles!
Today was a perfect example of the Wildlife Extravaganza found in the waters off Victoria:)
